Case Study
The Joanna Simpson Foundation
The Joanna Simpson Foundation charity website designed to help drive some much-needed donations for a great cause.
Joanna Simpson Foundation Website Brief
THE
CHALLENGE
The original website was built using Weebly. An off-the-shelf platform that lacks design flair and the right tools to help charities succeed during tough times.
Our challenge was to help JSF maximise their limited budget by focussing on key content and actions they need their visitors to execute.
Bespoke WordPress website design & Build
The original website had slightly confusing navigation, with link titles that did not translate to the content on the destination page. This had to be remedied as a matter of priority to improve the UX.
The new navigation is fixed at the top of the screen. This allows for easy access to key pages and the ever-important donations button.
We alternated blocks of white and green (the brand colour) with full-width images to deliver a high level of visual impact. This approach helps the eye scan through the blocks of information and understand the page’s structure.
Finally, we incorporated a social feed that pulls posts from both Twitter and Facebook.
The client now has full control over its website. They’re managing blog posts and event listings with powerful SEO assistance via the Yoast plugin.
