Learn to Discover
Learn to Discover is an online learning portal established by UCL. Providing courses in Python programming, data science and machine learning, tailored for health, disease and bioscience.
Educational Website Design & Development
L2D (Learn to Discover) is an educational sub-brand founded by UCL (University College London), UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) and Birbeck University of London. Built by a young and vibrant team of experts in Python programming, data science, networks and machine learning.
We were approached to help design & build an online learning portal that would promote courses and events and act as a gateway to learning materials for existing students.
The original timeline was quite tight, so we split the project into two phases. Phase one was to get the gateway live so that students could log in to their cohorts and access learning materials. Phase two was to produce a public-facing area that would drive interest in the courses and drive registrations.

A new education website for L2D
L2D already had a brand identity in place, so we got to work with their logo, colour palette, fonts and imagery to create an attractive website design that fully represented the brand and communicated their enthusiastic approach.
Learn to Discover wants to be the first port of call for those wishing to learn to code. So, along with course details and other useful information such as FAQs, we encourage L2D to include testimonials from existing students. Video testimonials were used to boost social proof and fully communicate the quality of the courses on offer.
We added some subtle animations to the page to help bring the content to life, after which we handed over to our colleagues at Devstars who linked the public-facing pages to the login area. The team at Devstars had already built the interface that gave students access to learning materials, which are fully managed by the client using GitHub.
L2D now has a platform to manage courses, promote on-and-offline events, and drive traffic by blogging about their areas of expertise.
In future, we will be working with the team at L2D to add eCommerce functionality, allowing students to book courses directly on the website.
