Project Background
Car Sales Website Design & Development
Andrew Fox has been working in the field of high-end custom-built vehicles for many years, and in 2023, decided to launch his own venture. He was joined by fellow petrol-head Liam Ulett (ex-Holeshot) who loved his vision, and so Artisan was born.
An Artisan is a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand. So, clearly, this moniker positioned the company far away from your usual car showroom. With this in mind, the branding needed to communicate a level of professionalism and exclusivity to help Artisan target the right audience.
The website itself is a work in progress. Growing organically over time as the company grows and production gathers pace.
We began with a simple single-page site to help gather the details of interested customers and have since expanded it to include a range of in-stock reconditioned vehicles that are available to test-drive.
You can view the current evolution at the link below and scroll to see and read more about the project.
Designing a car brand and website
When Artisan approached LWDA about their branding and website requirements, we initiated the whole process with one of our discovery workshops. The idea was to gain a full understanding of the product offering, the current competition, and Artisan’s unique selling points. This process is part of our brand strategy service and resulted in the visual identity and tone of voice that you see on the website today.
The website itself needed to facilitate a few key interactions between the visitors and the company as follows:
- Encourage sign-ups via an online form for custom-build enquiries
- Display in-stock vehicles to encourage in-store sales of reconditioned vehicles
- Encourage part-exchange payment options to help boost stock levels
- Boost test-drive enquiries
- Encourage social sharing of in-stock vehicles
Essentially, the structure of the website that promotes reconditioned vehicles is that of an eCommerce store, just without the payment process. The aim is to drive potential customers to place enquiries, which will then convert to sales offline.
In future, the website will expand further to help promote the custom-build side of the business, with beautiful photography and video to fully convey the attention to detail and craftsmanship that Artisan Motor Co. delivers when producing their unique, one-of-a-kind Land Rover builds for their customers.
